Program Itinerary of the Fes Marrakech 9 days desert tour

Day 1: Arrival at Fes

Pick up at the airport of Fes (SAIS) and transfer to the hotel or Riad

Day 2: Fes guided tour “Guided visit with our local guide

Once we have breakfast, we’ll start our guided visit of Fes. We take go today on a cultural guided day tour accompanied by our private driver and a local guide who will guide us to visit the most impressive places of the new and old Fes Medina. We start with a visit to the Royal Palace of Fez to see its amazing decorated doors and walls. Then to the old Medina where we will walk in the spices market with a visit to the leather workshop of Bab Boujloud…

Day 3: Fes – Ifrane – Midelt – Erfoud – Merzouga Dunes:

we will start our tour at 8:00 and drive towards the middle atlas mountains to make the first stop in Ifrane city (Moroccan swiss), after that, we gonna drive through the cedar forest of Azrou to visit the national park of monkies. Afterward drive straight to the apple city (Midelt) where we are going to have lunch, after that we are in the doors of the desert with spectacular geological formations and deep green valleys, such as the Valley of the Ziz. You will begin to see the typical architecture of adobe, palm trees, some distant Kasbahs. After a while, We will continue our way to the desert crossing the valley with its green olive and palm trees before facing the sand dunes. Upon arrival at Merzouga, We will be welcomed with a glass of Berber tea while check-in for our hotel rooms, with dinner and overnight, included.

Day 4: Desert Full day excursion:

After breakfast, We will be taken on a desert day tour around the sand dunes. We will visit the Nomads in their tents and small houses built with mud and rocks. Afterward, We will visit the mines of Miffis. These mines are rich in eyeliner and fossils. From there we will continue our way to Gnaoua house of music. There, we will meet these black guys dressed in white playing their soul music and dancing around before we go for lunch in this Berber restaurant to have a Berber pizza. After lunch, we will return to our hotel where will have a shower and get ready for our sunset camel trekking. Dinner and night in Berber camp under bright stars.

Day 5: Merzouga desert – Rissani – Erfoud – Todra Gorges – Dades Gorges:

After breakfast, We will leave the sand dunes behind and drive to Dades gorges, passing by the black desert Hamadas and crossing Rissani and Erfoud ‘Fossil and dates capital’. We will stop for a visit to a workshop on fossils in Erfoud before continuing our trip to Todra Canyons. Upon arrival, We will go for a walk in between the canyons, where people claim hiking favorite place with its waterfalls sounds and peaceful. We will finish our day trip by driving to Dades gorges via Dades valley with its Green olive and fig trees. Dinner and overnight in a hotel in Dades canyons.

Day 6: Dades Gorges – Dades Valley – Skoura – Ouarzazate:

On the 6th day of our “9 days Fes Marrakech desert tour”, We will drive to visit Dades Canyons. Along with this valley, We will visit a natural rock known as “Monkey toes” because of its natural form. From there, We will leave to join the Rose valley with its thousand Kasbahs and green fields of olive trees on the way to Ouarzazate “Hollywood of Africa”. Upon arrival at Ouarzazate, We will visit Taourirt Kasbah and Cinema studio which is the second biggest Cinema studio in Africa. Afterward, We will be taken back to our hotel in Ouarzazate for dinner and overnight.

Day 7: Ouarzazate – Ait Benhaddou – High Atlas – Marrakech:

After breakfast, we will join the high Atlas mountains. 30 km from Ouarzazate, We will reach Ait Benhaddou Kasbah a world heritage site. We will stop there to go for a visit to this Kasbah and explore its valleys and Mud stairs. Afterward, We will continue our day tour to Marrakech via the High Atlas mountains. Upon arrival, We will drop you at your hotel or riad in Marrakech. 

Day 8: Marrakech guided tour “Guided visit with our local guide

After having breakfast, you will start sightseeing visiting the highlights of the red city including the Menara Gardens, the Saadian Tombs, the Bahia Palace, Majorelle Gardens, the Koutoubia impressive Mosque with its famous Minaret built by the Almohads…

Day 9: Transfert to the Airport
