Program Itinerary of the 12 days desert tour from Tangier to Casablanca

Day 1: Tangier - Tetouan - Chefchaouen

The “12 days desert tour from Tangier to Casablanca” starts at your Riad or at the airport. We will drive you through the Rif Mountains and into the city of Tetouan. Then we will continue driving to the city of Chefchaouen. You can visit some attractions and enjoy the view of the sunset. Chefchaouen is also a blue city which is known for a unique and ancient medina with many handicrafts. You will have the opportunity to explore many things in this city. You will then spend the night in a Riad or Hotel.

Day 2: Chefchaouen - Volubilis - Meknes - Fez

After breakfast at your Riad, you will have enough time in Chefchaouen and we will continue driving to Volubilis. Volubilis is the archaeological site of the Romans. It is a well preserved site of a great Roman social city. After visiting Volubilis, we will drive to the city of Meknes. It is one of the imperial cities of Morocco with Moorish style and attractions. After visiting Meknes, we will go to the city of Fez. It is also an imperial city where we will spend the night in Riad/Hotel…

Day 3: Fes - Visit of the city

On this day of the “12-days desert tour from Tangier to Casablanca”, you will explore the attractions of Fez. The city of Fez is one of the oldest and most historic cities in the country. On your guided tour, you will explore most of the attractions of the old Medina. It is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. You will visit places like Al Karaouine University, the Blue Gate and the tanneries. After exploring important places here, you will go to the new medina of Fez and explore the rest of the attractions there. Overnight in a Riad/Hotel…

Day 4: City of Fez - Ifrane - Azrou - Merzouga

After breakfast in your Riad or Hotel, we will explore the Atlas Mountains and its villages. First, we will be in Ifrane which is known as the Switzerland of Morocco. You will enjoy its exceptional style, and we will head to the cedar forest of the village of Azrou. We will stop to see monkeys and take pictures. Afterwards, we will continue driving through the Middle Atlas Mountains and stop in Midelt. We will then drive to the Ziz valley, where we can photograph the views of the palm trees. Afterwards, we will stop to visit Erfoud and its oasis and market.
At our arrival in the dunes of Merzouga, we’ll get ready for our Camel trekking experience to the top of sand dunes to catch the sunset. Before we finish our day, we will return by camels to our Luxury desert camp for dinner and overnight under the tents including a drums party.

Day 5: 4×4 Desert tour includes: (Dunes drive, Nomad family visit, Black people village visit”:

After breakfast, we will make an excursion through the desert along the itinerary of ‘Rally Dakar’ to visit one of the smallest valleys of the desert “Tissardmin oasis” where we can find fossil quarries still present in the area. We will continue our way behind the dunes to visit the Mifis mines. After, we will continue our drive to visit one of the nomadic families in their tents to have an idea of how they prefer to live their way of lifestyle. We`ll ensure we visit Kamilia Village (Originally from African countries and came to settle in Morocco). At this village, We will enjoy Gnawa music and enjoy a fresh glass of tea including lunch in a local restaurant. After a while, we will drive back to our hotel.

Day 6: Merzouga - Rissani - Todra Gordes - Valle del Dades

After shower and breakfast, we will ride camels to the hotel. Then we will drive in Rissani and Erfoud and Jorf. In this village, you will see an underground irrigation system used to water the oasis. Then, we will continue the road to Tinghir where we will explore the valley and the old Berber Jewish Kasbahs. We will also visit the Todra Gorges, an impressive series of limestone canyons with a depth of 300m. After lunch in the Todra Gorges, we continue our journey to the Dades Valley. Dinner and overnight in a Riad or Hotel.

Day 7: Dades Valley - Rose Valley - Skoura - Ouarzazate

We will continue our journey in the morning after breakfast at the accommodation by driving along the 1000 Kasbah road to the Rose Valley and then to the village of Skoura. We will visit the place where rose products are made in the Valley of the Roses, and visit the nomadic caves, oasis and Kasbahs in Skoura. Afterwards, we will head to Ouarzazate to visit another Kasbah called Taourirt Kasbah. This is an ancient Kasbah in Morocco where you can see ancient materials in it. Then we will drive to your accommodation for overnight and dinner in Ouarzazate.

Day 8: Ouarzazate - Kasbah Ait Ben Haddou - Marrakech

We will start the day after a delicious breakfast, with a visit to the Atlas Film Studio. You will see where many films have been shot, such as Lawrence of Arabia and Gladiator. Then we will visit another ancient Kasbah of Ait Ben Haddou which is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. You will have lunch here after visiting this Kasbah and then we will move to another Kasbah of Telouet. It is known as the home of the Glaoui family. After visiting this Kasbah, we will start driving over the High Atlas Mountains through Tizi-n-T’ichka road at an altitude of 2260m. We will stop there to take pictures and drive to Marrakech. Overnight in a Riad/Hotel.

Day 9: Visit to the city of Marrakech

With our local guide, you can visit all the attractions in Marrakech. So, you will visit the Koutoubia Mosque which was built in the 12th century. Then you will visit the Majorelle Garden and the Saadian Tombs which are decorated with amazing mosaics. Then you will visit the souks of local crafts. It is the main attraction of the city. You can not miss to visit the Jemaa El-Fna square, where you will see snake charmers, singers, dancers and other things. After visiting all the attractions of Marrakech, you can enjoy your free time. Overnight at the same Riad/Hotel.

Day 10: Marrakech - Essaouira

After breakfast, we will travel to the city of Essaouira to explore the Portuguese castle on the Atlantic Ocean. Essaouira is recognised as the Windy City which maintains its traditional culture and history. Therefore, you will have a full day excursion to explore the old town and its numerous gourmets and antique shops. During the city tour, you will have a seafood lunch in one of the local restaurants. Overnight in a Riad in Essaouira.

Day 11: Essaouira - Casablanca

After breakfast at your Riad, we will continue driving to the city of Casablanca. It is a big city of Morocco where you will visit one of the biggest mosques which is the Hassan II Mosque. After that, you will visit the old Medina, where there is a Jewish synagogue, markets and other tourist sites. You will spend the night in a Riad/Hotel.

Day 12: Return to destination

We end our “12 days desert tour from Tangier to Casablanca” at the Riad or the hotel or airport
